12.26.07:  Here is a message from the LCRA regarding construction at the Lake Austin water intake facility in Lake Pointe:

On January 5th LCRA will begin to lower Lake Austin. We are still working with our contractor to finalize a more comprehensive schedule for construction at the raw water intake, but I would like to pass along to you what we do have. The overall construction time is projected to be 10 months if all goes well. Sequence of Activities: 1. Shaft excavation and cofferdam construction: Dec 07 - Feb 08 ( This is what is going on now. Cofferdam and lake side work will coincide with Lake Austin lowering and refilling) 2. Install new screen in Lake Austin: June 08  3. New pump station building and transformer: March 08 - September 08 (these dates may shift depending on the delivery of equipment) I have also attached a map showing the pedestrian trail to the lake re-routed to avoid the construction at the intake.
